RMT
Registered Massage Therapist
Philosophy
Having led a highly physically active life, I
have suffered from my fair share of aches and pains. About ten years ago I discovered massage therapy
as a tremendously beneficial means of pain relief and restoration of function. I eventually became attracted
to the profession realizing how personally meaningful it might be to share the qualify-of-life enhancing
attributes of massage that I had so richly benefited from with others. So, after an extended career in
the tech sector, I made the decision to return to school and retrain as a registered massage therapist.
I have not looked back.
Areas of Practice
I consider myself to be a general practitioner of the art and science of massage. I especially pride myself on my knowledge of anatomy and high accuracy of techniques, targeting very specific areas of the body - getting through to the root of my patient’s pain. From very light to deep specific work, I possess a large range of tools and skills to help my patients return to and maintain optimal health.
Educational
Background
I am a proud graduate of the West Coast College
of Massage Therapy, acclaimed to be the premier massage therapy training institution in North America and
one of the finest in the World. As of this writing I am in the process of completing my 4th year at Thompson
Rivers University pursuing my Bachelor of Health Sciences Degree. As a BC RMT, there is also a wide spectrum
of post graduate courses available, which I am required to take on a regular basis.
Personal
History
I am a native of Greater Vancouver and have lived here all
my life, except for a 3-year stay overseas in my early childhood. I am happily married with three beautiful children,
two girls and a boy, and live with my family only blocks from my practice at the North Shore Wellness Centre.
I am an avid martial artist with 25 years experience in the art of Karate, having recently achieved my 5th Degree
Black Belt. I am recognized in Okinawa, Japan as a master practitioner and enjoy teaching both private and public
classes to other enthusiasts.
